As we have finally reached the last day of 2018, I reflect back on a year which in most ways has been a challenging year, while at the same time, a year we continued to move forward as a community.

During 2018, we continued to encourage Active Citizenship throughout the ward, we did so through the annual march against crime, or in this case; a march in support of our men and women in blue.

The march was not only in support of police officers, it was in support of all security companies in the ward, the CPF as well as police reservists. Following the march, I would like to thank Chantelle Habib who has facilitated in hosting the Bracken Family Day which was held during the first weekend of December 2018.

While I recognise that we still have some way to go in terms of getting the larger public involved in the community, I remain optimistic of the prospects 2019 has in store for us. Therefore, I write to you in order to encourage you to do your part in building an involved community.

We have had a challenging year in many ways, however, allow me to take this opportunity as the New Year is about to begin a Happy New Year! May you and your families be blessed throughout the year.

I trust that 2019 will be a great year for everyone in Ward 38. I wish all businesses in the Ward great success, while wishing every resident a safe environment in 2019. Through the involvement of the community, I am also looking forward to seeing improved services in the area.

Until the New Year, wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
