DA intensifies service delivery interventions in Ward 38
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ward 38 in Ekurhuleni is introducing Service Delivery Wednesdays from July. These will take place at least once a month to target certain service delivery issues in the Ward.
As a start to service delivery Wednesdays, I will be going around the Ward with Officials from various departments to address issues raised by the residents. These visits will be an extension of the ‘Become a Champion’ initiative which was launched at the beginning of the year.
It is important to tackle service delivery more proactively by all concerned; this includes the Ward Councillor and Committee, Council Officials and residents in the area. When we all work together to tackle the issues that affect all of us, we are likely to make progress in dealing with service delivery in the area. I would, therefore, like to call on residents to help us identify service delivery issues that affect our area.
The DA will also be introducing the Service Delivery for Business Forum later in the year, as we understand that we have a corridor of businesses in the area. The details of the Service Delivery for Business Forum are being finalised, and will be communicated with the public at a later stage. Looking at Ward 38, it is clear that there is progress made, however; there is still a long way to go in addressing all issues faced by the residents on a daily basis. It is for this reason the DA finds it necessary to address any outstanding issues out there.
