Ward 38 Councillor introduces open door Wednesdays

Ward 38 Councillor introduces open door Wednesdays

Every Wednesday starting on 22 January is an open-door day for residents to meet with their Ward Councillor for residents of Ward 38 in Ekurhuleni.

The introduction of Open-Door Wednesdays comes as a result of discussions that have taken place between the councillor and the Ward Committee and is part of ensuring that the Ward Committee and the Councillor are freely available.

What this means is that, every Wednesday starting from 22 January residents are welcome to walk in to his office at anytime between 08:00 and 17:00 at the Alberton Civic Centre on the fourth floor, behind the Old Council Chamber; without having made an appointment.

This does not mean the Councillor is not available on any other day to meet and discuss service delivery in the ward. Should residents require to meet the councillor on any other day, they are welcome to make an appointment to meet the councillor.

Open-Door Wednesdays are there to encourage easier face to face meetings with the councillor

Open-Door Wednesdays are there to encourage easier face to face meetings with the councillor; this way the residents can for part of the decisions the Ward Committee and the councillor makes on their behalf and can gain understanding on the work done to try and improve service delivery in the Ward.

As part of ensuring that the Ward Committee and the councillor offers quality service to the residents and encourages active and meaningful participation by the residents when it comes to addressing service delivery concerns.

The Ward Committee is committed to make sure that through all of our efforts, we are able to improve the standard of service delivery in the Ward.
