About Malcolm Maifala.
Malcolm Maifala is currently the Ward Councillor for Ward 38 in the City of Ekurhuleni and a member of the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ekurhuleni.
Malcolm Maifala served as the DA Shadow MMC for Community Service, focusing on Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture from June 2018 to June 2019. He is currently the DA’s Spokesperson on Public Participation and Petitions.
Having been in the media industry prior to being in politics, he understands the value of constantly communicating with the community on a regular basis.
He graduated from the DA’s Potential Candidate Programme in 2015 and has since shown keen interest on developing other leaders in the DA. He remains an advocate for establishing political schools in Ekurhuleni.
As one of the DA’s public reps he believes, growing the party will take a concerted effort in training activists to become future leaders within the DA. He has a passion for not only training keen activists, but to help his peers be the best they can be.
Having visited Portugal in 2019, Malcolm plans to champion for the re-invention of democracy from a local government level.
He served as the DA Youth’s Regional Vice Chairperson in 2012, has serves as Alberton Constituency Secretary and is now a member of the Gauteng East Training Committee, and a Training Representative for Alberton Constituency.
